Are you living?

Are you existing?

There is a difference.

When you live …I mean truly live, you look to the future with joy and not fear.

When you live you have hope.

When you live you breathe.

When you live your life gives life to others.

“Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

From the very beginning the Lord breathed life into our being, giving us us life. But as we walk through life we must continue to draw our breath from Him for if we try to breathe on our own the things of this life will steal our breath.

When life steals our breath we just…exist. You can barely breathe. Your hope wanes. You can’t see tomorrow. The road ahead seems frightening, uncertain.

Maybe you are here…maybe you feel like Job, like you have lost everything, the loss of a dream…what could be…what should be.

Maybe unforeseen circumstances came and swept away everything you thought was secure.

Maybe choices were made by someone else that destroyed your world and you are picking yourself up piece by piece.

Maybe your body has betrayed you and sickness is stealing your moments in the present and tormenting your ability to have hope for the future.

Maybe you made a choice that you wish you didnt make and you are to ashamed to trust that Gods mercy is for you.

Maybe you are just tired…

Wherever you are…whoever you are…wherever you’ve been guess what? Jesus says the same thing to all of us:

‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28

Wherever we are He invites us to Come to Him. Come and rest. Come and lay down in green pastures. Come and lay our burdens down. Come and live.

There is a special song called “The Untitled Hymn” by Chris Rice (Some know this as “Come to Jesus”) In feeling incredibly burdened for several people in our life who are walking through tremendous valleys I felt so moved to sing and record this song. I hope it ministers to you. I hope you come to Jesus and feel His presence and more than that I hope it gives you the courage to get back up, to breathe in the breathe of the living God so that you can live.

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden’s lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don’t be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall, so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can’t contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory’s side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!
