When you’re in the middle

When you are in the middle of it …

You’re in the middle.

The going through.

The waiting for victory.

Waiting.

Tired.

What if (you fill in the blank) does or doesn’t happen

Hopeful that you will get through it but not sure how much longer you can wait, hold on, hope…

When the Israelites were still enslaved in Egypt the Lord did some pretty amazing things; plagues of frogs, gnats, darkness, turning water into blood…He did supernatural things to show His power apart from and prior to the actual exit out of Egypt. After seeing some miraculous things

despite STILL being in slavery…

despite STILL not having their prayers for freedom answered yet this happened
“Then Moses did the miracles for all the people to see, and the Israelites believed. When they heard that the LORD was concerned about them and had seen their troubles, they bowed down and worshipped him.” Exodus 4:31

Their faith grew. Hope sprouted. It was after they had seen some of these miraculous things that they began to see that the Lord saw their trouble, that He was concerned for them, that He had seen them… would fight for them.

While they were still in Egypt,

while they were still enslaved

while they were still waiting

for Pharoah to let them go the Lord showed His power in other ways to sustain them and to build their trust, faith and hope until the time came when He did in fact part the seas and they were freed from their captor.

Sometimes in the middle of trial it feels as though God is deaf, blind and ignoring your plea but may we be reminded..

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

He is the God who see’s…He is the God who at the appointed time saves us sets us free…He is the God that provides and sustains us with other blessings and miracles that at times go unnoticed because we are still only focused on the exit of our journey.

While the sea may have yet to part perhaps the miracles He gives in the middle…need to be noticed…remembered…

He walks with us before the trial, through it, He walks with us in the middle of it. If we remember that He sees and is concerned for us – He teaches us during and shows His power in ways mysterious..

For the Israelites it was in the knowing that God saw them that sustained them. It was in the knowing that God would fight for them. It was in the knowing and seeing through other things that God was God…worthy to be praised…worthy to be waited on, worthy to be trusted.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Wait on Him. Rest in Him. He sees you. He will fight for you. And as you walk in the middle, remember, wait upon Him, notice the things around you that He has provided to give strength, endurance, hope…those reminders that He is in fact real…those things that feel like water from heaven in the middle of our drought…

13I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. 14Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. Psalm 27:13-14
